The story of the BeachvolleyVikings began in the small Norwegian fjord town of Strandvik in 2015, whenAnders Mol & Mathias Berntsen teamed up and set a goal to qualify for the2020 Tokyo Olympics. At the time three-time Olympic coach and father of the Molfamily, Kåre Mol quit his job to start coaching the young and aspiringathletes, with the help from his wife Merita Berntsen Mol and father ofMathias, Jetmund Berntsen. With a slim budget and only supported fromthe cornerstone company in Strandvik, Leigland Bygg, the team set theiraim towards medalling in various European Youth Championships.
